10 Facts About Me

1. I’m guilty of golden age thinking.
Just like the movie, Midnight in Paris, I, too, dream about another time. Surprise to no one, it’s specifically the 1700’s in France. The exquisite clothes, the beautiful architecture, the ornate decor- it’s just all so romantic!

2. I’m passionate about traveling the world.
I only started really traveling ever since dating David, but in 5 years we have visited 7 countries together. When we aren’t traveling internationally, we like to explore the US as well! There is just something about experiencing a new culture and exploring a new city!

3. I performed at the halftime show of the Pro Bowl.
In 2005, my high school cheer squad was invited to Hawaii to participate in the show. Here’s a low quality recording I found on YouTube.

4. I survived a house fire when I was 9.

5. I have this weird obsession with Abraham Lincoln.
I can’t explain it, but I have collected Abe books and trinkets ever since I was young. I’ve been to the Lincoln Memorial, Ford’s Theater (where he was assassinated), as well as other museums/exhibits.

6. As a hobby, I dance at Lokelani’s Rhythm of the Island.
I’ve been dancing at this Polynesian studio for 3 years now. We mainly practice Tahitian and Hula, and perform at festivals throughout the year. I love how it can be such a stress reliever, and it’s such a good full body workout too!

7. I love musicals.
I’ve seen Wicked too many times to count, Phantom of the Opera a handful of times, Hamilton, and Frozen. In a couple weeks, David is taking me to see Anastasia! I always say in another lifetime, I would’ve been a Broadway actress.

8. My favorite movies and shows are period pieces.
Don’t give me comedy or action, but I’ll watch a period drama all day. I love being transported back in time (hence fact #1). My favorites are Marie Antoinette, The Duchess, Titanic, Outlander, Downton Abbey, and Poldark.

9. I work in Regulatory Affairs.
I worked in Quality/Microbiology for 3 years after graduating college, but the past 5 years I have transitioned into Regulatory Affairs. To put it simply, I’m ensuring that my company complies with regulations pertaining to cosmetics. I’m a rule follower, so this profession totally makes sense!

10. I’m a Francophile.
Everything about France and the French culture is just so captivating to me. I can honestly say that I think about wandering the streets of Paris at least once a day, and my heart swells every time I see a picture of the Eiffel Tower. I’ve only been to Paris twice, but I do believe it is my soul city.
